Going to Perm...
As is shown in the above table, the summer school program officially
starts on Monday 21st of July, but you can arrive 2 days in advance.
We will arrange your visa for your stay. Please note, visa will be valid
30 days. There are 3 direct flights to Perm from Moscow, while Lufthansa
operates direct flights (through Frankfurt). It is also possible to travel
to Perm by train from Moscow (some 5 trains per day).
Introduction day
The summer school program will start with an introduction day, which
is aimed at acquinting the students with each other as well as the city.
You will be provided all the necessary information that is required for
your stay in Perm. We will also hand you a guide book with useful telephone
numbers, information on public transport, supermarkets, post offices,
places to eat, etc., and all the "ins and outs" of Perm. The
same day you will get acquainted with your teacher and have introduction
lesson.
Tours/excursions
At weekends you will have opportunity to see the main tourist sights
of Perm region. One of the weekends you will go on a day excursion to Belaya
Gora Monastery and Kungur Ice Caves. At another weekend, starting
from Friday, we will take you on a 3-day trip into the nature of the
Ural Mountains. On the way you will have opportunity to visit GULAG
museum "Perm-36", which is the only one existing in Russia.
The nature tour will start the same day with short river trip on catamarans,
this night you will be staying in tents. The next day we will spend on
the river, making stops for lunch and short excursions.By the evening
we will get to the tour base where we will have a very relaxing stay
with traditional Russian sauna and barbecue.
The lessons
Russian is often referred to as a rather difficult language, mainly
because of its Cyrillic alphabet and its complicated grammar. Our aim
is to teach you basic everyday Russian language, in a structured, easy-to-follow,
step by step way. All the course materials will be included in the price.
Lessons will take place from Mondays to Fridays, for a period of 4 weeks.
On Monday 16th of July, the first lesson will start.

All lessons will be given by qualified and experienced teachers. For
you to get the maximum out of the course, the classes will have a maximum
of 8 students per teacher. By the end of the course, you will be able
to express yourself in common daily situations, such as introducing yourself
to new people, helping yourself out in the supermarket, asking for directions
and ordering food and drink in a restaurant. The course will be concluded
with an exam and the issueing of an official certificate.
Departure
Unfortunately, every holiday has to end. But we are more than sure that
your time here will have been an unforgettable one and that you will
go home not only with good memories, but also with an extensive knowledge
and experience of life in Russia, a basic knowledge of Russian language
and many many friends - both other students as well as locals, with whom
we are sure you will keep in contact with for a long time!
Accommodation
Homestay accommodation allows you to stay with a Russian family, which
will be the very best way of experiencing Russian culture. The host families
are carefully chosen by us; only respectable, friendly and open families
that speak a conversational level of English and live in a well equipped
and clean apartment are selected. We will be in constant contact with the
the family and yourself to ensure the quality of your stay. Most families
have been known for their eagerness to have you speaking in Russian to
them, so it is guaranteed that choosing homestay accommodation will help
you in learning the language a great deal. Not many Russian families have
had the chance to go abroad; for them to get a foreigner to live with them
is regarded a big honour. They will be more than happy to help you in any
kind of way. As for the accommodation, you will have your own private room.
Naturally, you are free to use all amenities that are available. You will
have access to an equipped kitchen, a toilet and bathroom and a washing
machine.
Costs
The 4-week program costs 1168 euro per person, which
includes:
- Visa invitations;
- Transfer on arrival in Perm;
- Accommodation during the summer school program 19th of July until 17th
of August;
- 3 weeks Russian language tuition by a qualified teacher as described;
- Course material;
- Introduction day as described;
- Special guide book with useful information;
- 24-hour emergency number;
- Out of hours, guidance and help from our teachers when required.
- Excursions as described.
Not included is your food (except excursion days and river trip). Food,
however, is very cheap in Russia. You can calculate on some 15 euro per
day for 3 meals. Also not included is your trip to Perm. As mentioned,
we can organise your trip from Moscow. Contact
